Detailed information about the itinerary
Brothers Islands – Located in the southern Red Sea, the Brothers Islands are among the most iconic dive destinations in the region. Isolated and remote, they offer a truly unique experience for divers. Big Brother Island is marked by a 32-meter Victorian stone lighthouse, a relic of British rule. Divers can explore dramatic walls and pinnacles teeming with reef fish, barracudas, and reef sharks, with the occasional sighting of hammerhead sharks for those lucky enough.
Daedalus Reef (Abu Kizan) – About 90 kilometers from Marsa Alam, Daedalus Reef is a standalone reef measuring 400 meters long and 100 meters wide. Its central lighthouse, originally built in 1863 and rebuilt in 1931, sits atop a small artificial island. Known for its healthy corals and pelagic encounters, Daedalus provides divers with excellent opportunities to see hammerhead sharks, reef sharks, and large schools of fish. During peak season, several liveaboards anchor overnight at the reef, creating a vibrant dive hub.
Elphinstone Reef – Stretching north to south in the open Red Sea, Elphinstone Reef features steep walls on its east and west sides, with submerged plateaus marking the north and south ends. The reef supports a rich population of reef fish, attracting sharks and other pelagic species that can often be seen feeding along the walls. Divers can enjoy both exciting drift dives and relaxed reef exploration, making it suitable for a range of experience levels.
Depending on conditions and guest preferences, this tour can be customized to focus on either high-adrenaline drift dives or more leisurely reef dives, ensuring a tailored and unforgettable Red Sea diving experience.
Elphinstone Reef – This long, finger-like reef stretches from north to south in the open Red Sea. Steep walls drop dramatically on the east and west sides, while the north and south ends feature submerged plateaus. Sharks frequently patrol these walls, feeding on the abundant reef fish population.
St John’s Reef – Located furthest south, just 10 miles from the Sudanese border, St John’s Reef is a vast reef system rising from a massive underwater plateau. It offers dozens of excellent dive sites with rich biodiversity and dramatic underwater landscapes.
Zabargad Island – Known since the time of the pharaohs for its ancient olivine mines, Zabargad features a scenic south wall with a variety of passages and thriving marine life.
Rocky Island – This dive site features submerged rocks surrounded by sandy areas, with a beautiful swim-through at around 20 meters. Divers can expect staghorn and hard coral, leopard sharks, whitetip reef sharks, turtles, and pelagic species like Giant Trevally. Maximum depth is about 39 meters, though most dives occur around 15 meters. Strong currents make it better suited for advanced divers.
Marsa Abu Galawa – A large reef teeming with marine life, including seahorses in the sea grass, offering relaxed diving and abundant biodiversity.
Fury Shoals – A collection of pristine reefs along the southwest Red Sea coast, Fury Shoals features unspoiled hard and soft corals, thriving reef fish, and a variety of reef sharks including whitetip, grey, and occasionally oceanic whitetip sharks. Pelagic species such as barracudas, Giant Trevally, and dogtooth tuna are commonly sighted, making it a highlight for adventurous divers.
SS Thistlegorm – One of the most famous wreck dives in the Red Sea, the 125-meter British freighter sank off the west coast of the Sinai Peninsula in 1941 during World War II. The wreck is loaded with wartime cargo including tanks, aircraft, armored vehicles, Jeeps, and trucks. Divers can explore the split hull, machinery, and remaining cargo, making it a must-visit site for wreck enthusiasts and history buffs alike.
Ras Mohammed National Park – Situated at the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula, Ras Mohammed protects an area of 480 square kilometers, including fringing reefs, islands, and a small mangrove forest. The reefs here are home to over 220 coral species and more than 1,000 fish species, along with sea turtles, starfish, crustaceans, and sea urchins. Divers enjoy spectacular coral gardens, walls, and abundant marine life.
Gubal Island – Gubal offers divers a sand eel garden and a rich reef ecosystem. Careful exploration reveals octopus, clownfish, parrotfish, butterflyfish, and thousands of small reef fish. This site is perfect for both macro and reef diving enthusiasts.
