Roatan Aggressor

The trip was great! I dived 25 times including 4 night dives. The reef is in good shape with plenty of life. El Aquila is a good shipwreck and an enjoyable dive. Other than one stormy afternoon which caused us to cancel two dives, the weather was great. I recommend this trip to any diver. The crew was excellent with great dive master, a fantastic cook and a top notch skipper. All of the quests were friendly and engaging, and I have even made plans to go on another trip with some of them.Critter report – lots of macro stuff with little crabs, shrimps, nudibranchs, slugs and stuff. A dozen or so sharks which I really like. Several moray eels. Four octopuses. A number of big lobsters and huge crabs. Plus a couple of turtles.

Our week onboard the Roatan Aggressor was our first live aboard experience. What an amazing time we had! This trip included myself and my husband, and our two adult daughters, one of whom is a marine biologist and master diver. We also had two friends join us from our hometown in Idaho. Most of us were newbie divers, with about 25 dives in our log.The Aggressor staff of eight worked nonstop, updating us with information, cooking, cleaning, serving, and diving with us. This crew offered "fintastic" service --- fins put on and taken off-- for each dive. At every turn, we were treated with graciousness and excellent service. As a full-time homemaker, I especially enjoyed the delicious meals and total cleanup, truly a vacation from my normal kitchen routine.With five dives per day, and meals and snacks in-between, our days were quite filled. But we found time for napping, sitting in the hot tub, and even took the nitrox certification course. I really appreciated how the staff consistently communicated the schedule for the day.Once I had a couple of dives under my belt on our first day, I felt more confident underwater, and appreciated the guidance of our dive masters. They were there for us to follow if we wished, help us locate sea creatures, and to make sure we could return to the boat at dive's end. With 18 of us in the water, we needed to practice spacing ourselves out as we explored underwater. But we saw many beautiful reefs, and amazing fish and creatures. I was a little nervous about night dives, and finally did the last one--it was awesome.We enjoyed meeting the other divers and getting to know them throughout the week. We learned even more about diving just by listening and asking questions. Many of them had very nice cameras and were happy to share their captures with us.The cocktails party at the end of our week was very fun--awards and mingling with the staff was a great way to end this exceptional week. We stayed for another week in Roatan, and are grateful for that time... we rested and relaxed and got our land legs back.We are already talking about our next live aboard adventure--can't wait!

The yacht, the staff and the service were A+.The yacht was in excellent condition and super clean. Important to me, and something that I have "dealt with" in past liveaboard experiences, is the "funk" of liveaboard boats. From the funky smell of the head/toilets; to the smells of products used to hide the head funk; to the smell of A/C; or, fuel, or the smell of humidity on fabric, etc. Nothing! This boat was great. For those people who struggle with an overly sensitive nose... you'll get this.The owner of the boat was our Captain on this trip. He was awesome. He and his staff were attentive, passionate, and involved. It is great to see when a team works well together, and enjoys the work it does. As a person who works in sales and customer service, I know what it takes to make sure each customer feels special, seen, understood and catered to. This staff excelled. None of them and nothing of the service was over the top, but nothing was lacking, either. A few of the staff members stood out: Alan (Captain), Johny (engineer) and Jana (sous chef), among them.The diving was excellent: 26 dives in 15 or 16 different sites. Good DM's, and good support staff getting us in and our of the water. Great communication (briefings, precautions and expectations of time).The food was simple, good and abundant. While I have no special food demands, a few people on the boat did: there was a "no dairy", one vegetarian and one vegan. I did not hear from them or anyone, that the food was not good, or not enough. I particularly enjoyed the meals including fresh fish and the unbelievably great desserts.I have no doubt that I will return to the Roatan Aggressor.

Another great Aggressor boat. Great crew on the Roatan Aggressor!Very windy (July) but the captain did a nice job of finding us divable sites.On your last half-day (on shore) try to visit the sloth preserve!Due to Covid, I have not been back on any boat since my last visit.
