Dive Overview
The Red Sea is one of the world's premier dive destinations, renowned for its crystal-clear waters, thriving coral reefs, and incredible marine biodiversity. From dramatic drop-offs to vibrant coral gardens, it offers a stunning underwater experience for divers of all levels. Shark enthusiasts will find thrilling encounters with some of the ocean's most iconic predators, while wreck divers can explore sunken ships teeming with marine life. Whether you're drawn to colorful coral landscapes or the chance to spot hammerheads, Longimanus, and threshers, the Red Sea promises an unforgettable adventure.
Brothers Islands- The northernmost part of Egypt's offshore marine park is made up of two islands 60km away from the coast and 140km south from Hurghada. The larger island (complete with a lighthouse from 1883) is 400 meters long with a spectacular plateau on the southeast corner which is dotted with coral mountains and famous for thresher and grey reef shark sightings. The western side of the island has two impressive wrecks which both lie almost vertical on the side of the reef. The most spectacular is the Numidia, a large cargo steamer which sank in 1901 and now lies on the tip of the island between 10 and 80 meters covered in soft corals and frequented by large pelagic predators. The smaller wreck of the Aida (sitting between 30 and 65 meters) was a lighthouse authority supply vessel which sank in bad weather in 1957.
- The smaller island, whilst only a little over 200 meters long, hosts an incredible concentration and variety of marine life. There is a pristine fan coral forest, a massive collection of hard and soft corals and compelling overhangs to explore. The highlight is the fish life; with regular seasonal sightings of hammerhead, thresher, grey reef, and oceanic whitetip sharks.
- This huge tear-drop shaped reef rises from the seabed in the middle of the Red Sea, 80km offshore and more than 300km south of Hurghada. Easily recognized by its zebra-striped lighthouse, this reef offers some of the most amazing dives in the Red Sea. The sheer walls are covered in over-grown hard coral formations and a variety of reef fish. Napoleon wrasses and turtles are often cruising by, but make sure you keep your eyes open on the blue! Daedalus is one of those places where anything can happen... oceanic whitetip, grey reef, and thresher sharks are often sighted, but Daedalus is most famous for its scalloped hammerhead sharks which can often be seen in large schools out in the blue during the summer months. The sheer size of this reef means that you can do several dives here and never get bored!
- A Red Sea legend; a finger-shaped reef, with north and south plateaus covered in hard and soft corals, unpredictable and exciting this truly is an awesome reef where hammerhead sharks are regularly spotted in the summer and oceanic whitetip sharks often congregate in large numbers during late autumn.
Diving Conditions
The Red Sea in November offers excellent diving conditions, with mild water temperatures around 75-79F (24-26C) and generally calm seas, making it an ideal time for both shark sightings and exploring vibrant coral reefs. Visibility is typically outstanding, ranging from 20 to 30 meters, allowing for breathtaking views of the abundant marine life and wrecks.

How to Get There
Flight Information
The closest airport to Port Ghalib is Marsa Alam Airport (RMF), however, there are limited international flights so guests may find it more convenient to fly in and out of Hurghada International Airport (HRG). Marsa Alam Airport is located just 15 minutes from Port Ghalib where the yacht is docked, and transfers between Marsa Alam and the boat are free of charge. Hurghada Airport is located 2.5 hours from Port Ghalib and a group transfer can be arranged at an additional cost. Guest flying into Hurghada should arrive no later than 2.00 pm, and guests arriving earlier will need to wait for the group transfer departing at 3.00 pm. Boarding takes place from 3:00 pm onwards on the 7th November, with the yacht remaining in port overnight and setting sail the following morning after clearance at around 8:00 am.
The boat will return to Port Ghalib on Friday afternoon, disembarkation will take place on Saturday 14th November between 8:00 am and 9:00 am. Depending on your flight schedule, local day-use hotel facilities can be arranged if needed before your transfer to the airport.
We highly recommend arriving in Hurghada or Port Ghalib at least one day prior to boarding. Early arrival will not only help you get acclimated to the local climate but ensure a timely arrival and that all bags have arrived.
Guests joining the land tour should plan to arrive in Cairo (CAI) on November 2nd. There will be no tours that day, you will be met and at the airport and transferred to the hotel to rest from your journey.
At the end of the land tour on November 7th, we will transfer you to the boat for the liveaboard trip.
